Ras Matthew Is a reggae/Dancehall artist Who has been a long-time professional skateboarder as well. His sponsors include and have included Think Skateboards, Spernaut and Creation Skateboards, I-Path shoes , Adidas, Satori Wheels, and Independent trucks. He has been featured on various Riddims And collaborated with countless Artists and producers Including. Rick Haze, Gary Dread, Ranking Joe, Ras Attitude, Makkoka Productions, Itation Productions, DubsQuad Productions, Biblical, skillinjah and many more. He has had album releases over the past 15 years and has an international following. 

Ras Matthew’s song “Ganja in My Brain” has gained a life of its own and has become quite a hit.
Boasting a combined total of over 20 million YouTube pays and hundreds of Remixes. Ras Matthew is
also part of the Capital City Rockers Soundsystem out of Sacramento California. His most recent release is called Soundclash released in March of 2022. The album was co-produced by Rick haze featuringartists Gary Dread, Skillinjah, and Rick haze. 
 

Musical influences include Reggae and soul music from the Temptations to David Ruffin and Al Green, and James Brown. Also influenced by rocksteady and early reggae such as Slim Smith the Uniques, The Abyssinianss, Burning Spear, Anthony B, Sizzla, Bob Marley, Bitty Mclean, Dennis Brown, Super Cat, Gregory Isaacs, Peter Tosh, Yellow Man, Pinchers and many more. 
Ras Matthew was also part of a soul/rocksteady band for over nine years called the Scratchouts. 
Ras Matthew Aka Matt Pailes grew up in a town close to Boston Massachusetts where he began
listening to the earliest hip-hop in the late 80s and early 90s. Growing up in the skateboard/graffiti hip-hop, Punk rock culture in his high school years. Listening to classic rock, Soul, Reggae, and punk.
Living in San Francisco in the mid-nineties Ras Matthew was introduced and immersed in the Rasta
Reggae culture heavily which influences his music in many ways to this day. 
Ras Matthew has a new song called “Turn up The Sound” featuring Reggae legend Ranking Joe to be
